FACTS N' STUFF
RYE SAYS!!!!
Guess what?  We do not shed but we do need to be groomed to maintain our coat and skin condition.  Most pets and retired show dogs are clipped 3 to 4 times a year, and working show dogs are kept stripped.  The stripping that is done on us show dogs is a time consuming process. The clippered dog may lose a little virbrance of color, but they are kept neat and clean easier.
We are so good with kids.  We are active, playful and just love companionship.  But as with all of us dogs, an adult should be alert and responsible for our good behavior.  You need to watch both us and the child.  As Wires we consider ourselves one of the children.
Our health is that of a generally healthy, sturdy dog.  We do not have major health problems in our breed.  We often live to be 10 to 15 years or more if we are well cared for..
There are very small differences between a show prospect and a pet puppy.  It is obvious only to an expert of our breed.  One of the advantages of buying from a show breeder is that all puppies will have been carefully bred to eliminate any faults and optimize health, temperament, and appearance..We all have received the same careful care and food that the show puppies do.
We are not barkers.  We do have very acute hearing and will bark at noises and strange sounds.  If someone comes to the door or someone drives in the yard we will bark to let you know.  As the responsible owner of any dog you must provide the appropriate training to allow us to bark when necessary and to stop when told "NO."  Behavior problems like this can be taken care of with the proper upbringing and care..
Rye says "I don't care what you say you will be here when I have my babies."
